- Hints: The ? button in the top-left offers hints based on which mode you’re in.
- Layer Menu: Open and close by clicking the arrow buttons, or use L to open and M to close.
- Element Count: Shows the number of faces, edges, and vertices in the selected layer. If no layer is selected, shows the total for the mesh.
- Exit: Esc
- Save: S
- Import: Import a previously saved Crystal.
- Export: Export selection as a Crystal.
- Help: A list of keyboard shortcuts depending on what mode you’re in.
- Toolbar: The categories of tools you can use.
- Undo: Ctrl + Z
- Redo: Ctrl + Y
- Free Camera: Hold Alt
- Settings:
NO SETTING AVAILABLE
- Show/Hide Layer: Click the eye symbol to toggle the layer’s visibility in the modeler.
- Rename: Click on the layer’s name to edit it.
- Edit Selected Layer: Isolate the layer and access the toolbar. Shortcut key: E
- Add New Layer: Add another layer to the mesh. Shortcut key: N
- Move Selected Layer Up: Navigate up the list. Shortcut key: ↑
- Move Selected Layer Down: Navigate down the list. Shortcut key: ↓
- Delete Selected Layer: Removes layer without confirmation. Can be undone. Shortcut key: Del
To reorganise the layers, hold L Ctrl and press the arrow keys.
- Geometry: Faces with textures and/or collision. At least one layer in the mesh must be visible.
- Cubes:
- Trigger: Create an area that activates when passed through. Necessary for waypoints.
Layer masks apply transformations to the mesh. You can use the “Edit Layer Mask” button to change which layers of the mesh the mask applies to.
- Translation: Shift the mesh along any axis.
- Scale: Scale the mesh bigger or smaller.
- Rotation: Rotate the mesh.
- Mirror: Create a mirrored copy of the mesh a specified distance away.
- Spawn Position: Set the spawn/respawn point for Starts (necessary) and Checkpoints (optional). Both the coordinates and rotation of the car can be set.
- Deformation: See Deformation in Modeling Tools.
- Chaos: Divide the mesh into smaller triangles angled in random directions.
- Subdivide:
- Smooth: Smoothens corners to a custom intensity.
Scaling each part independently means transformations will be applied to each individual part instead of keeping the mesh together as a whole (effect is very obvious with Mirror).
- Selection: Select groups without (accidentally) manipulating them. Shortcut key: C
- Move: Shift your selection along an axis. Shortcut key: M
- Rotate: Rotate your selection around an axis. Shortcut key: R
- Scale: Scale your selection bigger or smaller. Shortcut key: S
- Tool Step: Set the grid size for Move/Rotate/Scale. Shortcut keys: Numpad - / +
- Selection Length: Shows you the size of your current transformation.
- Snapping: Toggle if two elements should snap to each other even if they’re off grid. Shortcut key: Ctrl + J
Shortcut key: F1
- Create Face: Click to place vertices for a face. Double-click the first vertex to close the loop and create the face. Shortcut key: F
- Create Edge: Place/connect two vertices with an edge between them. Does not create a face. Shortcut key: E
- Create Spline: Click two points to create an edge, but continue placing vertices to create a curve. Shortcut key: Z
- Create Disc: Click two points (origin, radius) to make a circular plane. Shortcut key: D
- Create Polygon: Click two points (origin, corner) to make a polygonal plane. Set number of edges with 1, 2, etc. Shortcut key: A
- Create Sphere: Click two points (origin, radius) to make a sphere. Shortcut key: Q
Shortcut key: F2
- Extrude selection: Extend a plane in one direction, e.g. circle to cylinder. Shortcut key: E
- Deformation:
- Mirror selection: Create a mirrored copy of your selection. Shortcut key: Ctrl + M
- Split: Click on a face or edge to create a new vertex and subdivide. Shortcut key: A
- Move selection to ground: Move selection to the same height as the mesh origin. Shortcut key: Ctrl + P
- Cut selection Ctrl + X
- Copy selection Ctrl + C
- Paste selection Ctrl + V
Shortcut key: F3
- Cut hole in face: A combination of Split and Create Face. Subdivide around a face rather than a single point. Shortcut key: Z
- Fill hole: Create a face within a closed loop of edges. Shortcut key: H
- Flip edge: Shortcut key: F
- Quads to triangles: Click on a quad to split it in half. Shortcut key: T
- Merge vertices/faces: Click and drag to highlight adjacent faces, then release to remove excess edges and vertices.
- Subdivide: Split the face into smaller parts based on the shape of the face. Shortcut key: R
- Subdivide & Smooth: Subdivide the shape, but also add extra vertices to the outer edges to create more of a curve. Shortcut key: Ctrl + E
- Simplify Mesh: Let the modeler decide how to simplify your mesh.
